02-04-2008, 8:29 AM congoblue Joined on 01-30-2008 Posts 9 error message: HH_HELP_CONTEXT called without a MAP section I am trying to create a help file from a word doc for an existing windows application which previously had a manually created help file. Some points in the application have context-sensitive help, and the ID of the help to be called is already defined in the application and can't be changed. If I edit the helpid.ini file, I can set the help ID's as required, but when the windows application calls the help file, I get the error "HH_HELP_CONTEXT called without a MAP section" and the help does not display. Help!    Report

Reopen the .word2chm project file and then recreate the chm file. You may create chm file with the option "Keep HTML Help Project" checked and then open the saved .hhp file to see if the change has taken effect.    Report

A further problem was that I had unticked the "Auto Help ID" box, because Word-2-CHM was overwriting my changes due to the fact that I had edited the file with Word-2-CHM running. The correct procedure for me was: 1-Tick Auto Help ID and create the CHM 2-Close Word-2-CHM 3-Edit the helpid.ini file 4-Restart Word-2-CHM and regenerate CHM Could I suggest you modify the word-2-CHM help file to explain that you need to close Word-2-CHM before editing the helpid.ini file. It does not say this anywhere.    Report
