"Search" tab only goes to top level headings
Reply Quote
Hello, me again. Thank you very much for your excellent support so far, I have nearly completed my help project.

When I click on the Search tab in my finished CHM file and search for a word, the results only show the level 2 of the tree (which in my file are the main chapter headings - level 1 divides the document into a tutorial and a reference book). Clicking on a result then just jumps to the start of the chapter, rather than the correct position in the chapter or the correct subsection.

The Index and Contents tabs both jump to the correct subsection in the chapter.

I have Max Tree Level set to 4 and Merge Topics At Level 3 if that makes any difference.

I guess what I am asking is to be able to change the tree level where the search results are displayed, which currently appears to be set at 2. Hope you can help me fix this, thanks!

Each topics at level 2 and all its sub topics are in the same HTML page when you set the "Merge topics at level" to 3.
And the title of the HTML page is set to the title of level 2. That is why only level 2 topics appeared in the search result.
Please set this value to "None" to get the result you want.
