Stay on top? Pop-ups?

I'm almost ready to purchase the program. Testing is going well. I have a few questions I need answered before my manager tells me to buy something else.

1. How do I get the chm window to stay on top?
2. Does the program support animated clip art and gif files?
3. Is there a way to create pop-ups?

Straying footer

Has anyone any ideas on this issue.

On existing projects that were working correctly I am now finding the Copyright footer on the first screen of the help is now not appearing at the bottom of the topic pane but higher, with white space below it. And the footer does not quite reach to the left and right borders.

The other topics are okay, except where I am using Word master documents. In that case every first screen of each document is incorrect in the same way.

The other person in our organisation the at has Word-2-CHM does not have this problem, even with the same Word documents. I suspect I have done something wrong in Word or perhaps have somehow corrupted Word-2-CHM.

I have the latest version of Word-2-CHM and we are using Word 2007 in Compatability mode.

Master document issue with MSBuild (!)

Hyperlink betwen two .chm files

Hello,

I want to make link betwen two chm files created with word2chm.

In my first document i want to make a link to the second document.
To do that, i make an hyperlink in word 2007 but after compiling, this hyperlink don't work, i use the add in miscelanous for opening it in a new window but it's the same problem, internet explorer open a new empty window.

Is it possible to control which links are listed in "Related Topics"? How?

Visual Basic Template Wrong!

The template supplied with the original install Visual Basic.bas is NOT a VB6 file it is VB.NET

In fact it is an exact copy of the .NET vb file

This is not much use as VB6 and VB.NET are different.

Also I cannot find the project.ini file?

I have logged this to support but there is no response. Where can I get the correct template? The Topic "Using Html Help API" does not even mention API's - why is it called that? There are lots of topics in the help file about how only pro makes ID's but nothing about what to do with them - circular help - you just go round and round and end up where you started - having learnt nothing! I have paid for this and I am not impressed!

Use the HTML-Replace plug-in in topics

Dear Sirs,
we are using Word2chm 2009 Professional edition.

Is there a way to replace/exclude parts of topics?
We tried the HTML-Replace plug-in, but it didn't work.

Backround:
We would like to tag some topics in the Word file with a signature like "#TARGET1" and then exclude the topic for certain chm-files using the IgnoreTopics plug-in.
The tags are necessary because the Word document is translated into 20 or more languages and we had to make a "ignore - list" for every excluded topic and for every language, if we would do it the "normal way".
With the tags, we advise the translator not to change the tag and can use the tag in every language.
Problem is, the the tags should not appear in the chm-file and therefore have to be striped.

Is there perhaps a completely different way to exclude certain parts of the Word document in certain chm-files? Perhaps depending on some other properties of the text or headings, which could be preserved, when the document is translated to another language?

Strange structure of topic tree in generated CHM file

We are using Word-2-CHM 2007 Pro to generate a Help file from our product documentation written in Word.
As a preliminary step to the conversion with Word-2-CHM, we save the Word document in .mht format.

Now, when we generated the Help file back in February 2009, using Word-2-CHM 2007.13.912.662 on my machine running Windows XP and Word 2007, the structure of the generated topic tree was ok, reflecting the Word document's table of contents.

When we generate the Help file now, still using Word-2-CHM 2007.13.912.662 on my machine, but running Windows Vista and Word 2007, the structure of the generated topic tree looks really strange, e.g. there are top-level entries with text from the cover page, or references of figures and tables.
Note that we didn't change the .word2chm and .mht file!

What can we do the regain the topic tree structure reflecting the Word document's table of contents?

Text is being cut off from the right side of page on a print out.

I saw an earlier email about printing but the solution didn't work for me.

Can read the information in the .chm file, but the printout is cutting off the paragraph on the right side of the page, seems that wordwrapping is working but it extends father than 1/4" of the page margin. About 4-5 chars are being cut off.

I can't find anywhere to adjust printing, wordwrapping, etc.

I have the pro version 2009.2.1105.2256.

Anything I can do?

Integration with MSBuild

We tried integration with MSBuild running with the account we used to register the Word-2-CHM. No luck so far.. it is just hanging doing nothing... What is the way to check the error log? Can Word-2-CHM be integrated with MSBuild?

Word margin issue when converting to CHM

I have a pretty sizable word document that I am creating a CHM file using the 2008 pro version.

I have a couple of pages that are out of the margins (text boxes are out of the margin) and the document prints fine, but when I try to convert it to a CHM file, the page gets cut off from the margin.

Is this a bug or a desired effect? I really can't have this in my CHM file.

Any help?

Word-2-CHM Want Logo Image in Header

I am trialling the software as I am migrating to Windows 7 / Office 2010 beta. It all works fine, so I have converted all my files to master / subdocuments but there is one feature I cannot reproduce from my legacy package - having an image file in the header. The old package had the option for HTML files as the header and footer so I put the client's logo at the top and my logo at the bottom. Looked great. But I can't seem to do this here. I copied the HTML file for the footer into the Copy Message area as text, but the image is not displayed. There does not seem to be any option for an image in the header either.

I have attached a copy of the header/footer with incriminating names edited (the syntax should be ok).

Open the right page in the chm from VB.Net

In the Help.ShowHelp function, if i want to go to a specific bookmark created in the word document, what's the manner ?

I succeed with Help.ShowHelp(Me, "mychm.chm",KeywordIndex,"MyString") but i would prefer to search with hidden bookmarks in the word document (= name of the vb screen) rather than a specific string.
